March 11-June 6 The color of Zen… A tribute to Hsiao Chin 禪的顏色-向蕭勤大師致敬

Hsiao Chin (蕭勤) is a highly respected Chinese artist who spent decades learning and teaching art in Europe and later moved to Kaohsiung City in 2015. In the 1950s, he co-founded Ton Fan Group (東方畫會), the first art group in Chinese speaking world to promote abstract artwork. His works are deeply rooted in philosophical musings from Taoist and Zen origins. Find out more

March 30 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship
The 2019 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship is an off-road triathlon and trail running festival. The registration is closed, but you can still be there to support your favorite athletes. Find out more


March 30-April 7 The 2019 Kaohsiung Neimen Song Jiang Battle Array 高雄內門宋江陣
The Neimen Song jiang Battle Array (宋江陣) is an annual festival in Neiman District in Kaohsiung. Neiman is commonly recognized as the home of battle array. Song jiang was a fictional bandit in the Song novel “The Water Margin”(水滸傳). Originally, Song jiang Battle Array was composed of 108 heroes who were said to be transformed from the 36 Tiangang star gods and 72 Disha star gods. Nowadays, it is generally composed of 36 members. The battle array is largely composed by martial art skills.

March 31-June 30 Reopen of Tengjhih Forest Recreation Area 藤枝森林遊樂區重新開放
It took 10 years of maintenance to bring this beautiful scenic area back to the public. The area was once destroyed by typhoon Morakot in 2008. The reopen trail is around 7.75km, taking 3-3.5 hours of walk. The trail is between 500-1,804m altitude. Visitors need to make registration online prior to the visit.

April 4-6 Spring Break On The Beach 2019 夏都春宴
One of Taiwan’s biggest Spring Break parties with world class sound, lighting, dancing, international entertainment, and complimentary drinks. They also offer a chance to win money with the Bikini Dance Off.

April 13 03:00pm/ 05:09pm Flash mob concert 美麗島站光之穹頂快閃音樂會
Leading by Chen-chieh Chang, well-known Taiwanese cellist, the flash mob concert will take place at The Dome of Light at mrt Formosa Boulevard station. Chang moved to the capital of music-Vienna, to study music at the age of 14. Later, he returned to Taiwan to continue performing cello.


April 13-14 Picnic by the Love River 愛河野餐派對
Kaohsiung City government and La Rue co-host the picnic on this weekend. Food, beverage and accessory stands will be on the Hexi Road along the Love River.
